Observed representation is not business truth
A search result or generated answer describes what a surface showed under particular conditions. It does not certify a company's actual capabilities. A mention, citation and recommendation are different phenomena; interpreting any of them requires the surface, query or instrument, language, geography, date and available conditions.
A gap describes a difference worth explaining
Public evidence of a capability may exist while some observed surfaces represent it weakly or not at all. The gap is a derived finding for investigation, not a causal diagnosis. Editorial coverage, language, indexing, query selection, product changes or instrument limits could play a part; without enough evidence, the cause remains unknown.
Comparison needs a stable method
To compare two moments, identify the instrument and version, surface, queries or prompts, context, period, sample and variation where relevant. A product interface and a model API are different instruments. If conditions change or the sample is small, AXIGNAL should expose the discontinuity or abstain from claiming a trend.
Evidence can inform work done elsewhere
An agency may decide to review content, communication or distribution in response to a gap it considers relevant. AXIGNAL does not do that work, and a later improvement does not prove a specific intervention caused it. A subsequent observation can describe only what changed under comparable conditions, with the uncertainty and sample scope made clear. When representation is sparse, the next step depends on the organization’s audience and business context. A documented gap can prompt a question for the team, but it does not identify a cause or establish that more visibility would improve commercial outcomes.
Conceptual example
A component maker describes a specialist capability on its website, yet it does not appear in a selected, documented public query. AXIGNAL could record the difference as a gap to investigate. Before attributing it to SEO, check the query, language, surface, date and other possible explanations.
Scope and limits
AXIGNAL does not execute SEO, GEO, marketing, reputation management or ranking repair. It does not promise ranking, citations or growth. Any measurement depends on instrument/version, conditions, period, sample, coverage and observation rights; public opinion and representation do not establish commercial truth.
Editorial basis
This page explains product doctrine and boundaries. It does not demonstrate source coverage or observed outcomes.
