Observation memory and canonical truth

An economic system needs to retain signals and material that do not yet justify a definitive claim. If every stored item were treated as truth, memory would mix useful leads with facts that have actually been admitted.

In brief

AXIGNAL separates Observation Memory from AXIGLAND. Memory preserves normalized observations with provenance and time; AXIGLAND contains admitted canonical knowledge. Persistence is not admission, and an observation that cannot be admitted today may still matter to future questions.

Preserve information before deciding what is admitted

A source may matter even when its scope, resolved identity or corroboration is insufficient for a FAXT. Retaining a reference and its conditions makes later review possible without forcing an early conclusion. This avoids losing information during research while keeping clear that the evidence has not crossed the admission boundary.

Keep an independent boundary for truth

A FAXT requires a subject, predicate, value, evidence, provenance, temporality and epistemic state. EvidenceAdmission determines whether a claim can enter canonical knowledge under governed rules. A summary, probabilistic evaluation or repeated statement cannot replace that process. This boundary lets AXIGNAL investigate broadly while canonizing cautiously.

Reassess derived knowledge when state changes

An INXIGHT or economic path may depend on multiple observations and FAXTs. If a source changes, identity is resolved or a contradiction appears, only affected dimensions need reassessment under policy. Memory retains history and fingerprints to explain the change; it does not rewrite the past or assume an interpretation remains current.

Make the kind of knowledge visible

A readable interface distinguishes what was observed, what was admitted, what was derived and what remains potential or unknown. This helps a person decide what to explore without receiving an overstated claim. Memory supports research continuity, while AXIGLAND protects canonical truth and its evidence references.

Conceptual example

Hypothetical: a public source says a company is evaluating a technology but does not show that it installed it. AXIGNAL may retain the dated, sourced statement and use it to guide a later question. It does not record an installation as a FAXT until suitable evidence supports that different claim.

Scope and limits

Observation Memory is neither a parallel truth store nor permission to bypass admission. Retention and reuse depend on rights, privacy and provenance. Old or ambiguous information may persist with a limited state; its persistence does not make the claim current, true or canonical.
