Describe each edge with its own subjects
A relationship connects specific subjects through a predicate and scope, with evidence and time. If a parent owns a subsidiary and that subsidiary supplies another company, those are two separate links. Evidence for one link does not automatically transfer to the next and does not permit the intermediate entity to disappear.
Use PATHX to explain the sequence
PATHX can express a route composed of organizations, capabilities, markets and relationships. Its purpose is to show how an economic activity may connect and which evidence supports each segment. A path may be direct, indirect, corporate, economic, potential or historical. Keeping its composition visible avoids implying that the entire route has one uniform evidence state.
Do not assume transitivity without support
If A relates to B and B relates to C, it does not follow automatically that A relates directly to C. That conclusion may depend on direction, relationship kind, time, capability and interpretation. A derived route preserves its steps, boundaries and any UNKNOWN state; it does not become a direct fact for display convenience.
Keep explanation and admission as separate boundaries
A potential route may warrant attention and be visible with an explainable basis without being an admitted canonical relationship. The interface should let a reader inspect which evidence supports each segment and which part is derived. EvidenceAdmission remains the boundary for canonical truth. A model, graph or path alone does not promote a relationship to a FAXT.
Conceptual example
Hypothetical: A owns subsidiary B, and an independent source describes B as supplying components to C. PATHX can show A → ownership → B → supply → C. It should not be summarized as “A supplies C” without evidence for that direct relationship.
Scope and limits
A path by itself does not prove an observed relationship, opportunity, causality or commercial intent. Each segment needs subject, predicate, scope, time and provenance. If a link is missing or its direction is ambiguous, the route may remain potential, incomplete or UNKNOWN.
