A POTENTIAL opportunity is not a lead or customer

The word opportunity can suggest a sales item ready for follow-up. In AXIGNAL, a derived opportunity is an economic hypothesis with enough basis to investigate, not a sales outcome or CRM record.

In brief

Derived opportunities remain POTENTIAL by default. Capability fit, market activity or a published project does not by itself establish demand, eligibility, budget, a commercial relationship, buying intent or probability of closing.

Separate an economic hypothesis from an operational lead

A lead usually represents a contact or entity that a sales process can qualify and manage. AXIGNAL does not perform that function. It may connect evidence about capabilities, markets, projects or needs to surface a potential route, but that connection does not mean someone expressed interest or that permission, access or willingness to buy exists.

Show what supports the path and what remains missing

An explainable opportunity should link the observations and relationships that motivate it, with scope, time and provenance. It should also disclose unresolved conditions such as technical requirements, location, demand or buyer identity. Evidence about a project does not automatically answer those dimensions. Material gaps may call for research or abstention.

Do not turn fit into an outcome

Compatibility between a capability and a project can guide a question, but it does not prove commercial fit. A company may not participate, qualify or have resources. It may also have no relationship with the organization that published the project. A Signal keeps its basis even if no contact, bid, negotiation or sale follows.

Keep the person in authority

The subscriber decides whether a hypothesis merits investigation and what action to take. AXIGNAL provides context and evidence; it does not assign sales tasks, contact third parties or issue a purchase recommendation. Any viability conclusion needs specific diligence and human judgment, without retrospectively changing the epistemic state of the evidence.

Conceptual example

Hypothetical: a public tender seeks maintenance and AXIGNAL observes related declared capabilities. It may show a POTENTIAL opportunity with sources and open questions. It does not create a lead, confirm eligibility or say the company will win or be hired.

Scope and limits

AXIGNAL is not a CRM, lead generator or sales prospecting system. POTENTIAL does not mean likely sale or likely customer. Scores, tender outcomes and subscriber decisions do not replace evidence, canonical admission or an explanation of uncertainty. A surfaced path can guide a question while leaving qualification and action to the subscriber.
